CHS graduate sets up new scholarship

Two Creslane Elementary School fifth-graders, Lauren Heater and Allison Bagenski, performed as a piano duo during the 2009 Ensemble Festival, held at the University of Oregon School of Music on Nov. 8.

Life, career changes lead new teachers to CMS
Rob Jerome, 39, holds a doctorate in jurisprudence (JD) from the University of Oregon. He practiced law in Eugene, and then spent several years as a stay-at-home dad to his two daughters, now ages eight and four, before returning to the UO to earn his master's degree in education.
Steve Tedrick, 38, taught and performed as a professional flamenco and jazz guitarist before returning to the UO to pursue his recently completed master's degree in education.

School board adopts 2009-2010 budget
Immediately following a public hearing during which no member of the public testified, Creswell School District's board of directors voted unanimously to adopt the 2009-2010 budget proposal recommended by the board Budget Committee during its regular June 17 meeting.

Board members agree to reschedule their regular June meeting at 7 p.m. on June 17 to better mesh with the budgeting timeline. The Budget Committee will hold its first meeting at 7 p.m. on April 29.

Mr. Bulldog games offer good fun for good cause
The hijinks, and the Mr. Bulldog dance on March 13, kicked off annual pageant seasons at CHS, Cottage Grove High School and Pleasant Hill High School, during which eight selected senior boys at each school compete to be crowned, respectively, Mr. Bulldog, the Lion King and Mr. Billy.

Search for new school superintendent underway
During the Sept. 10 Creswell School District board meeting when Public Relations/City Committee chair Kathy Thompson asked fellow board members to suggest needs that the committee could take to the next city council meeting, Gary Clark immediately replied, "Land!"

School board officers selected, superintendent search to begin
Creswell School District's first board meeting of the 2008-2009 school year was relatively brief, lasting less than an hour. Much of the Aug. 13 meeting was spent selecting board officers and determining which members would serve on the various board committees.
