CHS Drama stages two-act family comedy
The two-act play, Homecomings, a comedy in two acts by Frank V. Priore, was presented on May 20 and May 23 by the Creswell High School Drama Club, which has been advised for the past three years by CHS English teacher Laura Kingsbury.

FFA boys, alumni capture donkey basketball trophy
This year's trophy, with associated braying rights, was eventually captured by the FFA boys' and alumni team, which downed the Ray's Food Place team to set up an all-FFA championship game against the FFA girls' team, which defeated the team from radio station KKNU.

Jazz Band places at prestigious Reno festival
Five thousand student musicians, most hailing from schools significantly larger than Creswell, from all over Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Nevada, competed during the festival, one of the nation's largest and most prestigious student jazz festivals.

Masquerade prom a big success for CHS
The CHS 2009 junior-senior prom, reportedly one of the most successful in school history, was held from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on May 2 at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Springfield.

Mr. Bulldog contestants Glow for Kids'
Glowing with youthful vibrancy and the satisfaction of a job well done, contestants and coordinators wrapped up the 2009 Glow for Kids-themed Mr. Bulldog Pageant, knowing their efforts would help give babies experiencing a rough start in life the chance to also grow healthy and strong.

Reno-bound CHS jazz band takes second at P-Hill
Less than a week before their scheduled departure to compete in the prestigious Reno Jazz Festival, the Creswell High School Jazz Band smoothly swung their way to a second-place finish during the annual Pleasant Hill Jazz Festival, held at Pleasant Hill High School on Apr. 18.

Chamber music funds Reno jazz trip
The Chamber Music Concert, held March 18 at Creswell Presbyterian Church, "feature[d] kids in unusual groupings," CHS instrumental conductor Sandi Green told an audience of about 100 people. "It's a chance for the kids to do something unexpected, and it's a nice showcase for them," Green added.

Kounovsky earns state Student Council post
Chris Kounovsky, a 16-year-old student at Creswell High School who serves as junior class president, was elected Mid-West Representative for the Oregon Association of Student Councils (OASC) during the organization's annual Seaside Fall Conference, held Nov. 1-3 this year.

CHS spring concert celebrates banner year
Performing with energy, skill and confidence, the vocal and instrumental student musicians of Creswell High School treated their audience to an extraordinary spring concert on May 22, capping a highly successful year of performance and competition for all the CHS groups.
