Efficient scoring powers Dawgs past Hawks on road, at home

By Gini Davis – The Creswell Chronicle

Junior forward Jack Callahan poured in 53 points in two games last week and three other Bulldogs also turned in double-digit performances to lead the Creswell Bulldogs to a pair of wins over the La Pine Hawks last week.
The 15th-ranked Bulldogs soundly defeated La Pine 80-47 on the road on Jan. 24, and again at home, 82-57, on Jan. 27.
Now 4-2 in league and 9-8 overall, Creswell sits third in Mountain Valley Conference standings, behind league-leading third-ranked Harrisburg (6-0 league, 15-4 overall) and second-place 11th-ranked Coquille (5-1 league, 15-5 overall).
Creswell put it all together offensively at La Pine, shooting out to a 24-11 first-quarter lead. The Dawgs were up 47-27 at halftime and outpaced the Hawks 25-9 in the third quarter to end the period up 80-47.
“We played great – we were really, really efficient,” said Creswell Head Coach Jesse Thomas. “We got off to a really good start and hammered them pretty good in the second and fourth quarters.”
